Appointment Information (FAQ)

How can I make an appointment to see our cardiologists?
Appointments are made through a referral from a general practitioner or another specialist. Once the referral is received one of our office assistants will contact you or your family physician office with an appointment date and time, as well as instructions regarding the appointment.

How long are the appointments?
In general, new consultations will be 45 minutes (15 minutes registration/questionnaire, 30 minutes with MD). Follow-up appointments are 15 minutes. Please arrive at least 5-10 minutes ahead of your scheduled appointment. Our cardiologists make every effort to stay on time. Your wait will rarely exceed more than 5 minutes on majority of the visits.

What should I bring to the appointment?
Please bring a list of all your medications that you are currently taking to your appointment. Please bring your MSP Care Card with your appointment. Prepare a list of questions you may want to ask Dr. Leung during the appointment. Feel free to bring any family members or friends who may want to be present during your appointment as well.

What do I do if I have to cancel my appointment?

What do I do if I am experiencing a medical emergency?
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest hospital emergency room.

Where are the stress tests, holters, and echocardiograms performed?
Stress tests and Echocardiograms are done at Eagle Ridge Hospital (see map and details below) or Royal Columbian Hospital depending on timing and convenience for patients. Holter monitors and EKGs are organized through our office.
